Considering Homeschooling

In my consultations, I address the specific concerns and questions of each family. The following are a few examples of those I often hear from parents considering homeschooling:

• I don’t think I have the time or knowledge to do all the teaching. Can we still homeschool?

• Will my child make friends and learn to get along with others?

• Can we afford it?

• My family/friends are skeptical. How do I respond?

• My career is important to me – I’m not sure I want to give it up to homeschool.

• My child has special needs. Is homeschooling an option for us?
